Dr. William Nghiem trained at George Washington University with one of the pioneers and experts of women’s health in the field of Interventional Radiology. There he gained extensive experience in the diagnosis and treatment of a variety of conditions such as uterine fibroids and pelvic congestion syndrome. Dr. Nghiem has brought his expertise in women’s health to Horizon Vascular Specialists by treating these conditions without surgery and utilizing advanced minimally invasive techniques. Dr. Nghiem has also been recognized as a Top Doctor nationally and regionally.
Dr. Nghiem is passionate about meeting the individual needs of his patients to improve their quality of life. He provides expert diagnosis and guidance on options for the treatment of uterine fibroids. Dr. Nghiem also specializes in the non-surgical treatment for uterine fibroids, specifically uterine fibroid embolization (UFE), to help patients recover as quickly as possible. Dr. Nghiem and Horizon Vascular Specialists strive to be a leader in non-surgical outpatient fibroid treatment.
In addition, Dr. Nghiem is dedicated to educating the public and other physicians about uterine fibroids and UFE. Dr. Nghiem has helped countless women across the region, who may have a perception that their uterine fibroids are controlling their lives. He understands that many women may be embarrassed by their condition and unwilling to share their experiences with others. Silence around uterine fibroids contributes to the lack of knowledge and the limited awareness of treatments options besides surgery.
Although UFE is a successful method for treating uterine fibroids, a majority of women diagnosed with uterine fibroids reported that they have never heard of the procedure. For this reason, part of his mission involves increasing awareness and knowledge for patients regarding all their potential treatment options so they can truly make informed decisions for their own well-being. He also encourages more conversation about uterine fibroids in hopes that more women recognize the symptoms of uterine fibroids so they may sooner seek help and receive the care they need to feel better.
Dr. Nghiem’s practice also includes treatment of other medical conditions such as chronic pelvic pain, treatment of headaches and migraines, and fallopian tubal infertility.
